What we cover

Three topics, explained properly

Every guide sits in one of these hubs. Start with the one that matches what you are about to do.

Crypto

Crypto prices move fast and most explanations assume you already know the jargon. These guides explain how market cap and price charts work, how to choose between exchanges, what drives a sell-off, and how Bitcoin is actually used day to day. Each one ends with what to check before you act, so you can judge the risk yourself.

Trading & Markets

Trading is easier to learn one idea at a time. Start with reading price charts and spotting trends, then learn which indicators help and which only add noise. From there, the risk guides explain margin, notional value and liquidation in plain numbers, so you understand how leverage works for you and against you before you open a position.

All Trading & Markets guides

Gold, Silver & Coins

Before you sell jewellery, scrap or old coins, it pays to know what they are worth. Metal value comes down to purity, weight and the live spot price, and our guides show the maths with worked examples and calculators. The coin guides cover what makes a common coin valuable, and what dealers usually pay compared with melt value.

How our numbers work

Methodology

  • Crypto prices come from the CoinGecko API, cached on our server for up to 10 minutes and refreshed in your browser about once a minute. Each table shows its last update time.
  • Metal calculators multiply weight by purity by the spot price per gram, and show that formula next to every result.
  • Coin values are based on published auction results and dealer price guides. They are ranges, not offers.
  • No affiliate influence: we do not sell coins, metals or trading accounts.
Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Where do OfferBin prices come from?

Crypto prices come from the CoinGecko public API, which averages trades across hundreds of exchanges. The server refreshes them every 10 minutes and your browser updates them about once a minute while the page is open. A price on your own exchange can differ slightly from the average.

How is the melt value of gold or silver calculated?

Melt value is weight multiplied by purity multiplied by the spot price. For example, 10 grams of 14K gold is 58.3% pure, so it contains 5.83 grams of pure gold. Multiply that by the spot price per gram. Dealers usually pay less than melt value to cover refining and profit.

What does notional value mean in trading?

Notional value is the full market value a position controls, not the margin you put down. It equals the contract size multiplied by the current price. A position with a large notional value can gain or lose far more than the cash you deposited.

What is liquidation?

Liquidation happens when losses push your account below the margin a broker or exchange requires. The platform closes your position automatically to stop further losses, often at a poor price. Using less leverage and setting a stop-loss lowers the risk.

Is OfferBin an exchange or a financial adviser?

No. OfferBin is an information site. You cannot buy, sell or store crypto or metals here, and we never ask for wallets, keys or payment details. Our guides explain how things work and are not personal financial advice.

Is OfferBin free to use?

Yes. Every price table, calculator and guide is free, with no account and no email sign-up.
